Nothing says Disney like shuffling, shambling, flesh-eating corpses, does it? If you generally don’t expect to see zombies anywhere near the Mouse House (except for in the Disney Channel’s 2018 high-school musical Zombies), mega-hit TV series The Walking Dead has found a new streaming home on Disney+. Soon the show will appear under the Star brand in the UK, the FX series now coming under the Disney banner after the Fox merger. Even better, the upcoming Season 11 will also be heading to Star when it begins airing later this summer.

From 2 July, the first ten seasons of The Walking Dead will descend onto Disney+ to sit alongside the likes of Buffy, The X-Files and Lost on Star, should you feel like bingeing a show about the apocalypse after over a year in lockdown. And as of 23 August, the final season will begin arriving weekly, wrapping up the saga that began way back in 2010 – that’s the day after they hit US screens. The final run will consist of 24 episodes.

If the central Walking Dead series is approaching the beginning of the end, the apocalypse is far from over. A seventh season of spin-off Fear The Walking Dead is coming later in 2021, there’s a proposed spin-off featuring fan-favourite characters Daryl and Carol, and an upcoming trilogy of movies centring on Andrew Lincoln’s lead character Rick Grimes. Now, here’s hoping the undead don’t infect the rest of the Disney classics on the service.
