Parisians with things worth stealing: be on the lookout. Because Lupin is returning later this year, with Omar Sy sure to cause more havoc for the French elite as gentleman thief Assane Diop. Or perhaps not – since, the thrust of the upcoming Part 3 seems to involve Diop having to keep a low profile, now renowned across the nation and wanted by law enforcement after getting his revenge on Hubert Pellegrini last time around. Netflix has just confirmed that Lupin will be back on our screens later this year, and there’s not too much longer to wait.

As revealed by a freshly-dropped poster, Lupin Part 3 is confirmed to arrive on 5 October:

And here’s the official synopsis for the season: “Now in hiding, Assane must learn to live far from his wife and son. With the suffering they endure because of him, Assane can't stand it any longer and decides to return to Paris to make them a crazy proposal: leave France and start a new life elsewhere. But the ghosts of the past are never far away, and an unexpected return will turn his plans upside down.”

Given the two-plus year wait since Part 2 hit the streaming service in June 2021, here’s hoping the third chapter in the story lives up to the standard set in the widely-acclaimed first run.
