If the initial promo whetted your appetite for Netflix’s new historical adventure based on the travels and travails of explorer Marco Polo, the company is keeping the show in our minds via a new, slightly longer trailer.

The Venetian, who made it as far as China and turned his wanderings into his epic travelogue The Travels Of Marco Polo, is played here by newcomer Lorenzo Richelmy. The 10-part series will see his traveller discover that the intrigue and betrayals of Kublai Khan’s court are tougher than even he imagined they might be. Hopefully he brought Diplomacy For Dummies along.

This new promo keeps up the promise of lots of location shooting and some good-looking cinematography. Kon-Tiki co-directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg directed the first two episodes from scripts penned by show creator John Fusco.

Also online is a new featurette about the show, which hits on December 12 with all 10 episodes arriving at once, as its Netflix’s usual style. Oh, and there is more about the series in the current **Empire, which you can find by venturing to your local news vendor or subscribing to via this link{ =nofollow}.
