The Blade Runner sequel continues to chug along through pre-production as its prepares to kick off shooting this July. And with casting in full swing, there's another new face to announce, as Dutch actress Sylvia Hoeks has joined the team in an unknown capacity. Human? Replicant? Something else?

Thus far, confirmed story information about this has been subject to a near total lockdown, though tiny details have emerged, including the fact that Harrison Ford will be back as Rick Deckard, the man last seen chasing down wayward genetically engineered replicants illegally extending their lifespans. The new movie is set decades after the 1982 original and will co-star Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista and more recent addition Ana de Armas.

Sicario's Denis Villeneuve is directing from a script by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, with Ridley Scott acting as executive producer. The cameras will start to roll in July and the film recently shifted forward to an October 2017 release date.

Hoeks has been seen in films such as The Best Offer and has a couple of projects on the horizon: Niels Laupert's Whatever Happens and action thriller The Lake, which co-stars J.K. Simmons and Sullivan Stapleton.
