Fresh from terrorising Keanu Reeves in Knock Knock (and needing his help in Exposed) Ana de Armas is taking on what will be her biggest film yet. She's landed a main role in the Blade Runner sequel.

Of course, exactly what she'll be doing in the film is for now a total mystery, given the near absolute info-blackout on plot details. What we know so far is that Harrison Ford will be back as Rick Deckard, the man last seen chasing down wayward genetically engineered replicants illegally extending their lifespans. The new movie is set decades after the 1982 original and will co-star Ryan Gosling and Robin Wright.

Sicario's Denis Villeneuve is directing from a script by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, with Ridley Scott acting as executive producer. The cameras will start to roll in July and the film recently shifted forward to an October 2017 release date.

De Armas will next show up in War Dogs opposite Jonah Hill and Miles Teller, with the gun-running comedy drama due on August 26.
