First shown to enormous acclaim in 1992, this is the screen incarnation of the Dark Knight that, unlike the films, never faltered and displayed overwhelming fealty to the comic’s source.

These early episodes — featuring the classic villains — showcase the characters’ perfect affinity to Film Noir, as well as the gorgeous design (dubbed ‘Dark Deco’) and stylish animation, easily making this the best all-round Batman yet seen.
