It might be a long wait for The Mandalorian Season 3, The Book Of Boba Fett, and Obi-Wan Kenobi – but, thankfully, there is another Star Wars series arriving in the not-too-distant future to keep fans amused in the meantime. Arriving on May 4th this year is Star Wars: The Bad BatchDave Filoni’s new animated series, a follow-up / spin-off of sorts to The Clone Wars, following a group of rogue clones (aka Clone Force 99) as they venture off into the galaxy far, far away. Check out the new trailer:

Looks exciting, huh? This one is in the same visual style as Filoni’s Clone Wars and Rebels shows, taking place after the Clone War (that’s post-Attack Of The Clones, pre-Revenge Of The Sith), and follows five distinct clones with defining talents by the name of Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker and Crosshair. Through the series they’ll team up with an inquisitive young girl, and go on the run from none other than Grand Moff Tarkin. He’s not the only familiar Star Wars face in the show – Ming-Na Wen is back to voice her Mando anti-hero Fennec Shand, and Saw Gerrera is here too, voiced by his original vocal performer Andrew Kishino rather than Rogue One’s Forest Whitaker.

The series premiere of The Bad Batch arrives on Disney+ on Star Wars Day, and clocks in at a hefty 70 minutes – and the rest of the show will roll out weekly from there.
