If you were one of the cyberpunk-obsessed masses patiently waiting for your next tech-noir fix courtesy of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake or CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll have no doubt heard the terrible news – they’ve both been delayed. Now arriving on the 10th April and 17th September respectively, these landmarks of 2020’s gaming release schedule had every sci-fi fan all a flutter with anticipation. But do not fear! Even as your bated breath gives way to a disappointed sigh, there’s still hope.

While the developers work away, putting all of their effort into making the upcoming games as good as can be, why not seize the opportunity to revisit some of the neon worlds that we’re already blessed with? Whether it’s a return to the grimy retro-futuristic streets of Los Angeles in a familiar classic like Blade Runner, a ponder on the transhuman musings of Ghost in the Shell, or even a trip around the neon dens of modern Tokyo with nocturnal photographer Liam Wong, there are still countless ways to get your cybernetic hit.

Blade Runner: The Final Cut1 of 13

Blade Runner: The Final Cut

The film that needs no introduction. A masterpiece of not just sci-fi, cyberpunk, and noir, but of cinema. Any dive into the world of cyberpunk is woefully incomplete without a trip to Deckard's smoky, shadowed apartment accompanied by some warbling piano. This Final Cut edition is, as Empire states, "a meticulous and loving restoration rather than a new cut, with (Ridley) Scott carefully polishing, burnishing and primping up his finest film."Amazon.co.uk

Ghost in the Shell13 of 13

Ghost in the Shell

Aesthetically, thematically and narratively, Ghost in the Shell is as cyberpunk as it gets.
