A second X-Files movie has been talked about since the first one came out in 1473...actually, the Imdb suggests it was 1998. Either way, it was a long time ago and rumours have circulated ever since.

Talking to Movieweb, David Duchovny said that after years of false whispers and false starts, The X-Files 2 will go before cameras in December.

"The script is written and as far as I know we're all trying to shoot in December at some point," he told the site, but he wasn't revealing any story details. "We would all love it if we could keep it a secret and just give everybody a fresh experience of not knowing what the movie's about." You can read the full interview here, but it's predominantly focused on Duchovny's latest film, The TV Set.

Are you still excited to see another X-Files movie after almost a decade? And what would you like to see in it?
