Wesley Snipes has been sentenced to three years jail time. The actor, who was once firmly in the Hollywood A-list, was given the maximum sentence for charges related to unpaid taxes. He was previously acquitted of more serious charges of tax fraud which could have landed him in prison for a much longer term.

Snipes was found to have avoided paying some $15 million in tax over several years and indulged in frivolous and threatening correspondence with the Internal Revenue Service. His two tax advisers Eddie Ray Kahn (who already has convictions for tax crimes) and Douglas Rosile were also jailed for 10 years and 54 months respectively.

So, let this be a lesson to you. Fill in your tax forms, no matter how confusing they may be. And take previous tax convictions as a sign that your tax adviser might not be the best in his field.
