It might not hit the peaks of filmmaking glory that some other trailers promise, but it’s nice to see other movies getting some attention. Such is the case with Peter Weir’s latest offering, The Way Back, which has just pushed out a new promo to Yahoo, and you can view it below.
The fact-based tale follows a group of seven prisoners – former soldiers – who escaped from a Siberian prison in 1940. Unfortunately for them, their only escape route was over miles of treacherous, freezing pathways, including a little obstacle known as the Himalayas. Oh, and then scorching desert, with little to eat but the odd snake.
Weir’s film features a great cast – Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris, Colin Farrell, Saoirse Ronan and regular **Empire **Videblogisode guest star Mark Strong.
The Way Back is getting a small release across the pond, but will likely roll out more if the Oscar chatter starts building.
It certainly looks to be an epic trek, though never forgetting the characters at its heart.
