Now, we don't want to blow our own trumpet here, but toot-de-freakin'-toot. Back in our August 2006 issue, we suggested that for the role of a female ex-marine pilot in his sci-fi extravaganza, Avatar, James Cameron should look no further than Michelle Rodriguez. So, as someone who clearly takes our sage advice terribly seriously, Cameron looked no further than Michelle Rodriguez.*

Rodriguez is the latest to join the cast of the live-action/CG animation hybrid, which centres on a human vs alien battle for a planet. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, CCH Pounder and Wes Studi are already cast in the $190million movie that has already shot much of its motion capture footage and starts live-action shooting in October.

Little-known Stephen Lang (A Few Good Men) has also been added to the cast as a seasoned marine colonel.

*N.B. The fact that none of the rest of our suggestions were even remotely correct may weaken our argument to the point of blatant self-delusion and lunacy, but we care not for the tyrrany of fact and, anyway, shut up.
