Banish, for a moment, any fond memories you may have of Chris O'Donnell, Michael York or, er, Dogtanian's take on young swashbuckler D'Artagnan, because it's time for Logan Lerman to have a go in the new teaser for Paul WS Anderson's The Three Musketeers.

Due out later this year, the film's another take on Alexandre Dumas' classic adventure story, with Lerman (formerly Percy Jackson) playing the musketeer newbie, the titular trio of experienced soldiers are Matthew Macfadyen (Athos), Ray Stevenson (Porthos) and Luke Evans (Aramis). Christoph Waltz is the dastardly Cardinal Richelieu; Milla Jovovich the sneaky Milady and Mads Mikkelsen the deadly Rochefort. Orlando Bloom will pop up in the smaller role of the Duke of Buckingham, just to remind us all that he's still out there (and about time too).

Any new version of the story has up keeping our eyes peeled, if only to see how much satin and lace one can sneak into one film and whether they'll lift any plot threads from Dogtanian and the Three Muskerhounds, just for a giggle. The Three Musketeers is due for release on October 14, 2011 in the US, and hopefully thenabouts here in the UK to boot.
