Like an itch he just can’t stop scratching, Oliver Stone is set to return to the Vietnam War for the umpteenth time with his new flick Pinkville. And guess what folks, it’s gonna be another controversial one.

It’s based on the infamous 1968 My Lai Massacre, in which more than 500 people, mostly women, children and the elderly, were killed by U.S. soldiers.

The massacre ended up being a turning point in the war – making it prime material for the firebrand Stone treatment.

Stars who have signed on the dotted line include Woody Harrelson (reteaming with Stone for the first time since Natural Born Killers), who will play the conflicted officer in charge of the massacring platoon and Bruce Willis as the army general who investigated the incident.

Bolstering the cast are A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints’ Channing Tatum and World Trade Center’s Michael Pena.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pinkville is due to start shooting early next year.
