The title makes it sound like Boogie Nights all over again, but Born To Be A Star promises a very different look at the porn industry. For one thing, it's set to be a comedy, and for another, it's co-written by Adam Sandler, so expect this to be rather more broad in its conclusions.

The story focuses on a small-town nerd in the Midwest, played by Nick Swardson (Bedtime Stories with Sandler, The House Bunny) who discovers that his parents were famous porn stars. Christina Ricci plays his girlfriend, and Dorff is set to play a legendary porn star called Dick Shadow.

Swardson wrote the screenplay with Sandler and Allen Covert, another Sandler regular. Filming starts next week, on what promises to be, like The House Bunny, an improbably cuddly look at the porn industry.
