The Spirit Site Launches

It is now the law that any movie based on a comic book launches its official site with a little intro from its director. Seriously, you'll go to jail if you don't do it. Frank Miller will (phew) be escaping time in pokey since he's recorded a little glad-handing video for the official site of his first movie as solo director (he co-directed on Sin City) The Spirit, which you can get to here.

Miller doesn't offer a huge amount of insight into what we can expect from the movie, just a little detail on his relationship with The Spirit's writer Will Eisner, but he does have a big hat. So, that's something to be grateful for.

The Spirit is the story of a young cop (Gabriel Macht) who returns from the dead as the crime-fighting Spirit and does battle with crime lord the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson). The film also stars Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes, Paz Vega, Jaime King, Sarah Paulson and Stana Katic.

The site looks like it could be pretty great once it gets going, with blogs, news from the set and a forum for all your discussion needs.
