Here's a new look at Jim Carrey as Ebeneezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, the new performance-capture film from Robert Zemeckis. It's not due to hit until later in the year, which will surprise you not at all, but in the meantime our friends at Latino Review have a short clip from the film to further whet your appetite.

The movie is of course an adaptation of the classic Dickens novel, wherein a nasty, miserly businessman is taught the error of his ways by three ghosts in the course of Christmas Eve night. If we're not mistaken, both this picture and the accompanying clip show glimpses of the arrival of herald ghost Jacob Marley.

The cast includes Gary Oldman, Robin Wright-Penn, Cary Elwes, Colin Firth and Bob Hoskins. By the looks of this still, Zemeckis has lost some of the dead-eyed quality that marked The Polar Express and has, in fact, ended up with a Carrey not dissimilar to his turn in A Series of Unfortunate Events. The film's due out here on November 6.
