With Deadpool assaulting cinemas this weekend and the final trailer for Batman V Superman still ringing in our ears, it seems appropriate that a new trailer featuring Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot should arrive. Action thriller Criminal is, however, resolutely Kevin Costner's gig, with Reynolds and Gadot part of an impressive supporting cast that also includes Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Oldman, Alice Eve, Jordi Molla, Antje Traue and Scott Adkins. Criminal continues Costner's recent thriller kick, following Jack Ryan and 3 Days To Kill. It's also Reynolds' second body swap movie in two years, following Self/less. Costner plays a ruthless career criminal (hence the title) who, rather than face the rest of his life in jail, volunteers for an experimental procedure to have the memories and skills of a murdered CIA field agent transferred into his own mind... with predictably unpredictable consquences.
The producers are Chris Bender and J.C. Spink (We're The Millers, Burt Wonderstone), with Avi Lerner (The Expendables) among the exec-producers. Director Ariel Vroman previously made The Iceman in 2010, and the Criminal screenplay is by Douglas Cook and David Weisberg (The Rock).
The film is out in the UK on April 15.
