If you were eagerly anticipating seeing Quentin Tarantino's next and — according to him — final film as The Movie Critic, well… just keep on eagerly anticipating something else. According to Deadline, the writer/director has changed his mind and will develop something else instead.

Tarantino had been talking up the idea for some time, having revealed that he was inspired by a real-life film critic who wrote for a porn magazine to craft the story of a writer in that field who works in the 1970s.

And Brad Pitt was lining up to join the film in a starring capacity, though whether he was going to be playing the title character, or as was rumoured, some version of Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood's Cliff Booth had yet to be confirmed.

If you're wondering whether this is simply Tarantino pressing pause on the movie (as he did with The Hateful Eight when its script leaked before he re-wrote and returned to that), it would seem that he's committed to ditching the Critic and is moving on. R-Rated Star Trek, put your hand down! He's already said that you won't be it.
