Imagine a man born with such a sensitive schnoz that he can seek out scents from miles away. Who ends up apprenticed to a master perfume creator and sets out to capture a unique and special scent.
That’s the basic premise of Run Lola Run director Tom Tykwer’s new thriller Perfume – The Story Of A Murderer. And, as the subtitle suggests, our power-nosed central figure (Ben Whishaw) resorts to somewhat extreme means to capture that unique smell.
It’ll make you think twice about the perfume counter at Boots, that’s for sure. Adapted from Patrick Süskind's novel and with the likes of Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman also on board, the film arrives in cinemas this December, but the trailer can be found here.
