There's been much talk recently of Penelope Cruz reuniting with Pedro Almodovar, who directed her to an Oscar nomination in Volver. But while nobody was looking she sneakily went and signed to star in the next Woody Allen.
Allen told Fox 411 that Cruz will feature in an as yet untitled comedy-drama that he's set to shoot in Barcelona this summer. As ever, Allen is not announcing plot details, but he did say that Cruz will speak both English and Spanish for her role.
Allen still has two films awaiting unveiling to UK audiences. The poorly reviewed magician comedy Scoop has still yet to see the darkness of cinemas over here and he's also putting the final touches to Cassandra, starring Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams. Cassandra is set to bow at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
