Sticking the first few minutes of a film up online to lure potential moviegoers is becoming a real trend in movie marketing.

And the latest to try the trick is Renny Harlin’s new horror thriller, teen-with-super-powers tale The Covenant.

The plot focuses on the Sons of Ipswich, four handsome Smallville types who attend a swanky, elite private school and are labouring under a secret legacy. They’re descendents of the four families who settled the Ipswich Colony in the 1600s. And they all possess special powers. When they’re not using their magical abilities to pull girls, they’re trying to prevent a newly arrived member of the fifth family – who were banished for trying to use their powers for pure eeeeevil – from destroying everything they hold dear.

Check out the footage here. The film drops into cinemas in December.
