New On Stranger Tides Poster Docks

Disney has well and truly lit the fuse on the publicity cannon for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. We’ve had an onslaught of posters, banners, pics, concept art and more in recent weeks and now the big one-sheet for the film has been shoved online over at IGN.

And wouldn’t you believe it, front and centre happens to be Cap’n Jack Sparrow himself, with Johnny Depp casting a look to the heavens even as he appears to be standing with one foot on a beach and one in the ocean. Bet his boots get wet doing that.

But while the focus is on Jack, there’s plenty to spot in the poster, including mermaids longing on a rock, a ship having some serious fire-related issues in the background and a mysterious woman in the surf. It’s a feast for the senses and no mistake. Well, the eyes. We doubt you could smell anything from the poster.

On Stranger Tides will see the eyeliner addict Sparrow off on a quest to track down the fabled Fountain of Youth. But he’ll also have to deal with a former flame (Penelope Cruz) and Ian McShane’s Blackbeard, the most fearsome pirate to sail the oceans.
