Rambo – yes, it's just called Rambo now, for definite – has released its first official trailer on Youtube, which you can see below or here{
We have already seen that rough assemblage of footage which had a bit of a Roger Corman, 'I made this with 48p, a strong stomach and lots of exploding melons' vibe. This is a bit slicker, but still has a definite whiff of '80s about it. Which probably tells you whether you'll like it or not.
The dialogue is clunkier than a toaster in a washing machine, the music belongs in a computer game and Sly looks like he's going to a fancy dress party as himself. But...it's Rambo, so there's nostalgia value there. There's nothing to suggest that this will be as stark and wired as First Blood, but there's definitely still a part of us that wants to see black-vested Stallone unleash hails of bullets on some roughly sketched baddies while trying to ignore his sciatica.
