New Paddington Pics Arrive

He may not be a sass-mouthed, hard-nut outer space criminal with a tree for a friend, but if yesterday’s poster of Rocket Raccoon left you craving more images of a furred critter striking out on an adventure, here are two new pictures from Paddington to fill that void.

Adapted from Michael Bond’s books, it’s just the latest attempt to put the beloved bear on our screens, and promises a CG/live-action update still full of everything you might expect from a Paddington story. It’ll detail his encountering the likes of the Browns (Sally Hawkins, Hugh Bonneville, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin), Mrs. Bird (Julie Walters) and the cranky Mr. Gruber (Jim Broadbent), as well as a new nemesis in the shape of demented taxidermist Millicent (Nicole Kidman). Incidentally, we’ve found what should be Millicent’s favourite Twitter feed lurking right here.

Lest you think the cast can’t be anymore Oscar-y, Paddington himself is given by voice by Colin Firth, which should help him seem personable, even if he does tend to bring chaos (and sticky marmalade sandwiches) into everyone’s life. Once he’s finished taking in the sights, Paddington will wander into our cinemas on November 28. You can watch the teaser trailer right here.
