**Labyrinth **for Millennials, YA adaptation The Maze Runner is fixing up to be all dark, tangled and Darwinian. The film’s new poster, a dark and brooding affair that looks like the cover to the greatest ever Choose Your Own Adventure, gives a glimpse of the maze itself and the runners in action, well, running. The second in the **Maze **franchise, The Scorch Trials, has just been confirmed as a greenlit project at Comic-Con. It will continue the story of Thomas (MTV Teen Wolf Dylan O’Brien) and the confused group of boys who discover themselves not so much Lost on a mysterious island, as stuck in an elevator and deposited in a strange and deadly maze.

With no memory of exactly who he is, and plagued by strange dreams about a mysterious organisation known as WICKD, he soon discovers that he’s in a very dangerous place. Only by piecing together fragments of his past with clues he discovers in the maze can Thomas hope to uncover his true purpose and a means of escape. But with the obstacles ever changing and a surprise twist in the arrival of a young woman (Kaya Scodelario), it won’t be an easy task.

Also stuck in this killer web are Will Poulter and Thomas Brodie-Sangster, hoping to avoid whatever its equivalent to Bowie's King of the Goblins is.

The Maze Runner arrives in UK cinemas on October 10.
