New Line has snapped up the spec script Going The Distance, a rom-com about a couple involved in a long-distance relationship.
Usually, that sort of thing involves much pain, crying, and wailing before an emotional break-up, but first-time writer Geoff LaTulippe clearly has mined the situation for laughs to New Line’s satisfaction.
Nanette Burstein, director of the documentaries American Teen and The Kid Stays In The Picture, is stepping up to features with the movie, which is being produced by Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot via Offspring Entertainment.
