New Green Hornet Trailer Online

In its continuing effort to combat the somewhat negative buzz (pun only partially intended there), the team behind The Green Hornet has been putting out more and more clips and promos. The latest trailer has arrived online and it actually does a solid job of selling the film as an action romp, as you’ll see when you watch it below.

Hornet follows Seth Rogen’s Britt Reid, a media empire heir who wants nothing more than to live like a playboy, hosting lavish parties, bedding supermodels and generally having a wild time. But the suspicious death of his father James (Tom Wilkinson) is a wake-up call for the younger Reid, and he realises he needs to man up and make a difference.

Helping him on his quest to become something more heroic is Kato (Jay Chou), his father’s old friend and associate who has some hidden depths himself: he’s a master martial artist and a whizz at designing vehicles and weapons. The pair team up (sans tights or spandex costumes) with Reid assuming the identity of The Green Hornet…

There have been stories about disappointing test screenings and studio wobbles on the film, but the vibe has been turning around recently, with rumours of sequel plans and more positive reactions. The new trailer, which blends old material with some fresh footage (hey folks, anyone else suddenly remember Cameron Diaz is actually in this?) ramps up the action and the Kato-vision concept that Gondry has talked up in the past to a much more satisfying degree.
