The first full trailer for Marcus Nispel’s **Conan the Barbarian **featured plenty of the titular warrior a-hackin’ and a-slashin’, but Nispel and co were naturally forced to tone down the violence for a general audience. Now, though, with the arrival of the Red Band promo, the claret can fly, the bodies can hit the floor and the sex scenes… Well, they can at least be hinted at. Take a gander below.
This fresh look at the film suffers a little from the godsawful alt-rock track blaring over it, but the actual footage looks like they’ve certainly gone all-out with the fight scenes. No ides whether the plot will hold up, but let’s face it: it’s Conan (Jason Momoa) on a personal vendetta to avenge the destruction of his village and the slaughter of his pop (Ron Perlman) that turns into an epic battle against a hulking rival (Stephen Lang) and an evil sorceress Rose McGowan getting her freak on). Oh, and monsters. Because, why not?
From the looks of this, Rachel Nichols knows how to handle a sword as Tamara (no double entendre intended there) and while it’s a little difficult to watch Momoa in action and not immediately think of Game of Thrones’ Khal Drogo these days, he certainly looks the part.
