While we’re excited about many of the comedies arriving this year, one is sticking in our craw. Not because it looks bad, but because it looks great and yet there’s no set UK release date yet. Which film are we talking about? Why, Casa De Mi Padre, of course! The teaser arrived in December and now you can check out the new trailer below.
A tale of a family riven asunder by one brother’s actions, Casa focuses on rancher Armando Alvarez (Ferrell), who must find a way to save his father’s property. When his younger brother Raul (Diego Luna) comes up with the cash, all seems well. But then there is a double dose of trouble – Armando falls for Raul’s beautiful fiancée Sonia (Genesis Rodriguez) and Raul’s dodgy business dealings come home to roost, with dangerous gangster Onza (Gael Garcia Bernal) as a real threat.
This production from the team that brought us Anchorman appears to offer some superb Western mockery along with the advertised action, passion, drama, laughter, music and colour. Though not necessarily in that order. It’s out in the States on March 16, but we want this shipped over now, please!
