As you may know if you watched the first season, the birthday of the eight linked characters on Netflix’s drama Sens8 is a pivotal moment in the plot. So it seems appropriate that the streaming service took that date – August 8 – to announce that the show had been renewed for a second batch of episodes.

Hmmm, what to wish for? [#sense8](https://twitter.com/hashtag/sense8?src=hash) > > — Sense8 (@sense8) [August 8, 2015](https://twitter.com/sense8/status/630030706228379650)

Originally created by Lana and Andy Wachowski and sci-fi stalwart J. Michael Straczynski, Sens8 chronicled eight connected characters, known as Sensates, from all over the world who had to figure out this mysterious link between their minds and what it meant for them and the future of humanity. And manage all that while also dealing with their own personal dramas and battling a nefarious force looking to do them harm.

With Brian J. Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Jamie Clayton, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Tina Desai, Doona Bae, Aml Ameen and Max Riemelt as the main cast, the second season promises to explore their connection even more deeply, and follows what happens now that they’ve truly come into their bond. But of course, their enemies have not gone away either... The new episodes should be shooting this year and the show will likely return to Netflix next March, if the company keeps to the same release pattern.
