McSteamy Joins Marley & Me

In his first big screen role since playing a hundred roles as Multiple Man in X-Men: The Last Stand, Eric Dane has emerged as the latest name to sign on for David Frankel's canine comedy Marley & Me. Perhaps better known as Grey's Anatomy's resident man-whore, 'McSteamy', Dane will join Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston and Alan Arkin in the film, which is based on reporter John Grogan's best selling memoir.

The film sees a family learn some important life lessons form Marley, a rather highly strung dog. While used to playing a dog of the two-legged kind on TV, Dane will instead play Grogan's best friend and the man who suggests he adopt the puppy as a kind of child substitute - except furrier and with more inclination to bite your ankles.
