Matthew McConaughey is producing a new comedy called Exchange Students, a film that he developed the story for and plans to take a supporting role in to boot. It's described as a "family comedy with wry overtones a la Wes Anderson". Which sounds kinda intriguing - if not something you'd necessarily expect from the star of Failure to Launch, although it seems more logical if you think back to his early turns in things like Dazed & Confused.

The pitch sees one US student travel abroad and one foreign student travel into the US, both seeing the experience in very different ways. One has a ball; the other goes "off the rails". It's not clear yet which is which, but it'll be interesting to find out.

Mike Vukadinovich is writing the script - he's a former HBO writer who's also working on a series called Jonah and the Whale for McConaughey's JK Livin (for "just keep living") productions.
