Nativity adds Aghdashloo

The cast for New Line’s Nativity story is continuing to grow. With Keisha Castle-Hughes already in place as Mary, Shohreh Aghdashloo (who was Oscar-nominated for **House of Sand and Fog **and will shortly be seen in X-Men: The Last Stand) has been added to the cast as her older cousin Elizabeth.

Catherine Hardwicke is gathering her team for the film, which will chronicle Mary and Joseph’s life before their little bundle of joy to the world is born. Mike Rich’s script concentrates on a strong female perspective and chronicles the family’s journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem, with guest-starring roles for King Herod and the three wise men.

And if you’re thinking that Mary’s cousin is not the best role, you clearly haven’t been reading your Bible: Elizabeth is the mother of the child who would grow up to be John the Baptist…
