Maggie Grace Is Taken With Liam Neeson

Strangely, Maggie Grace has been sort of lost since leaving Lost. Oh sure, there have been horror remakes like The Fog (you forgot it too huh? We had to look it up) and she had a role in the completed-but-not-yet-released **Suburban Girl **(formerly The Girl's Guide To Hunting And Fishing) opposite, or at least beside, Sarah Michelle Gellar. But she hasn't really capitalised on that next-big-thing tag - until today, when she has signed up to star opposite Liam Neeson in Taken.

The film is a thriller, with Grace playing the estranged daughter of Neeson's character, who is kidnapped and forced into the slave trade. What her captors (presumably) don't know is that her dad happens to be an ex-spy, who sets about tracking her down and, we're willing to bet, opening whole vats of whoop ass.

The plot sounds like the purest, finest nonsense, and sure enough the script was written by Luc Besson and his longtime writing partner Robert Mark Kamen, masters of the nonsensical action film. Besson is also producing, but directing duties will be taken by Pierre Morel, who made his directing debut with last year's parkour-actioner District 13. So expect lots of unnecessarily cool action and slo-mo galore, with Liam Neeson in the middle of it getting in touch with his inner psycho. Shooting starts this month in Paris, and we'll be getting in line to see it around the same time.
