Things are moving along nicely for the animated Spider-Man movie that Sony has been putting together. It has a script, directors and a release date, and now we know two of the main voices. Dope and The Get Down's Shameik Moore is voicing Miles Morales (aka Spider-Man in this incarnation) and Liev Schreiber is lending his vocals to the villain.

While the movie, written and produced by Lego Movie duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller, has yet to announce a title or specify a plot, it will be directed by Bob Persichetti and Peter Ramsey, and will see Morales juggling school life and superheroics in typical Spidey fashion, drawn from the Marvel Ultimate title created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli in 2011.

As for Schreiber's antagonist? He's also being kept a mystery for now. We suspect we'll find out more closer to the movie's December 2018 release.

Moore, who can be seen as Shaolin Fantastic on The Get Down (the second half of the show's first season has just hit Netflix), has also worked on James Franco's The Pretenders, which should be out next year. Schreiber has Goon: Last Of The Enforcers already out in Canada and due elsewhere later this year, and has been warming up his pipes by providing a voice on My Little Pony: The Movie, headed here on 20 October.
