If there's one four-letter word that is bound to make us giddy with excitement, it's Dune. If there are two four-letter words that are bound to make us giddy with excitement, then they would be Dune and LEGO. Prepare to Spice up your life – LEGO Dune is here! Yes folks, The LEGO Group have just unveiled their LEGO® Icons Dune™ Atreides Royal Ornithopter, the company's first ever Dune LEGO set, based on Denis Villeneuve's epic sci-fi adaptation of Frank Herbert's legendary books. And it looks amazing.

Coming in at £149.99, this new set brings the instantly iconic ornithopter spacecraft to beautiful, bricky life – there are even functional blades on the aircraft that flap and retract with 180-degree rotation, which fills our nerdy hearts with joy. What's more, the 1369 piece set also comes with eight all-new minifigures. The minifigs on offer here include Paul Atreides, Lady Jessica, Gurney Halleck, Chani, Leto Atreides, Liet Kynes, Duncan Idaho and Baron Harkonnen in his long robe. To say we're somewhat obsessed with the floating Baron would be an understatement – just look at him!

“Like fans across the world, we were fully enraptured by the epic Dune when it released – so our return to Arrakis in Dune: Part Two was the perfect opportunity to bring this iconic craft to life in LEGO brick form,” says Michael Psiaki, Design Master at the LEGO Group. “Builders can now recreate this impressive ship with amazing detail, whether to proudly display or recreate their favourite scenes from the epic Dune saga at home.”

And so, whilst we may still be a few months away from Dune: Part Two's March 2024 release date, we must not fear (it is the mind-killer, didn't you know?) – LEGO Dune is almost here! The LEGO Icons _Dune_™ Atreides Royal Ornithopter is available to pre-order online right now, and will be on sale from 1 February 2024, with the set available to buy in-stores and online. We have heard the call of LEGO - and House Empire accepts.
