Justin Long Is Going The Distance

Empire’s got a lot of time for Justin Long – so we’re delighted to see that the former Dodgeball star has, after years of trying, bagged his first proper lead role, in the rom-com Going The Distance.

Long, so hilarious in the likes of Zack & Miri Make A Porno, will star as one half of a couple trying and – spoiler! - failing to keep their long-distance relationship alive.

Sounds like it’s got more of a dramatic edge to it than most of Long’s previous comedies. Could be interesting…

Nanette Burstein will direct, while Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot will produce, with New Line signing the cheques.

Long, meanwhile, will be seen in Sam Raimi’s return to horror, Drag Me To Hell, allowing us to give that film a totally gratuitous mention.
