Juliette Binoche On 'Nothing' Insult

Last week, Certified Copy star and highly-regarded French actress Juliette Binoche earned an insult from fellow European acting goliath, Gérard Depardieu.

"Please can you explain to me what the secret of this actress is meant to be? I would really like to know why she has been so esteemed for so many years. She has nothing. Absolutely nothing!"

She has nothing? Well, we're not sure that's true, especially as we definitely do know she has an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for The English Patient, César Award for Best Actress (and Venice Film Festival award) for Three Colours Blue, and most recently, the Best Actress award at this year's Cannes for Certified Copy.

Pretty comprehensively not nothing, but there you go. So when we caught up with her to talk about her Cannes-award winner, we asked for her two centimes on the whole 'nothing' debacle, and this, modern French cinema fans, is the result. And in video form, too!

So does Juliette Binoche have 'nothing'? The answer is surely no, but just in case you fancy getting all Depardieu on us, drop us a comment in the box below, why not?

**Certifed Copy **is out September 3.
