Joe Pesci doesn't do interviews these days - or these decades - but when he heard we were doing a Lethal Weapon reunion, he agreed to break his silence to share his memories of the series and his career so far. And what an interview it was. Our Nick de Semlyen chatted to the star for almost an hour, and we have a couple of choice snippets below.

First of all, we talked Lethal Weapon and Pesci's Leo Getz, who in the three sequels plays sidekick to Mel Gibson and Danny Glover's Riggs and Murtaugh.

"Mickey Rourke and I had gone to Disneyland. Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons were singing at Frontierland, so we stopped to ask for directions from these blond-headed, blue-eyed kids. I think they were Mormons probably. And the first word out of this kid's mouth was, 'Okay!' Then he hit me with about 12 more: 'No, no! Okay, okay, okay!' We thought it was really funny."

He explained his indelible 'They FUCK you at the drive-thru' monologue. "If there's something I can grab onto and beat the shit out of, I'll do it. I remember being pissed about drive-thrus, because they do actually fuck you. You go home and there's no fuckin' ketchup in the bag. And you can't go back, because there's always a long line. So you're fucked!"

Pesci also revealed that he turned down a juicy villain role in HBO's now-cancelled Luck, despite breeding racehorses in real life. "They had good ideas, but I'm not looking for a job."

For a lot more from Pesci, pick up the new issue of Empire. And let's all hope that something lures him back to our screens soon.
