Director Rob Cohen (the man who brought you Stealth), has found his ghoul overlord for the second sequel to the hugely popular Mummy franchise, and if you read the headlines, you'll already know that the man for the gig is Jet Li.

Plot details for the film are hard to come by, but thus far we know that Jet will be playing an emperor of ancient China, who is presumably woken from his curse sometime shortly after World War II. It's also a fair bet that his 6,000 terracotta warriors have their alarm clocks set, as it's been revealed that they will be a plot point.

Li will join the project after he's finished on his 'untitled J&J project', where he's teaming up with Jackie Chan. Hasn't Jet supposed to have retired from martial arts movies, though? Still, if anything is worth coming out of retirement for, it's working with Jackie. That movie should be out later this year, while The Mummy 3 is set for a Summer 2008 release.
