Jack And Jill Trailer Online

Wow. Just… Wow. The first trailer for Adam Sandler’s latest lowbrow/high concept comedy Jack and Jill has arrived on the web, and you can watch it below.

It’s the sort of film we figured Sandler might essentially retire from making after seeing the genre spoofed effectively in the mock trailers and posters featured in Judd Apatow’s Funny People. But we also guess that Sandler knows his audience and figures there are plenty of laughs to be mined from his dressing up in drag to play a woman and ladling on the physical comedy. Hey – it worked for Eddie Murphy, right?

The basic plot of the movie – and we do mean basic – appears to revolve around settled family man Jack (Sandler) faced with entertaining his annoying, boisterous twin sister Jill (you know who) when she travels from the Bronx for her yearly visit with him and the wife and kids in LA. Cue sibling squabbling, weight gags, sex gags and Katie Holmes probably wondering if she’s done something terrible in a past life to deserve this. Oh, and for some inexplicable reason, Al Pacino as himself, or at least a version of himself who gets horny for Jill.

This is from regular Sandler co-conspirator collaborator Dennis Dugan, and at least the trailer is under no illusions as to what you can expect from the film. Excited by it? Enjoy. Otherwise… We hear root canal surgery is available.

Jack and Jill is out on January 6, 2012.
