There have been "bus wankers" and "briefcase wankers", but now Rudge Park's finest should be bracing themselves for "koala wankers" as news comes in that The Inbetweeners 2 will take the four hapless teens to Australia for their next adventures. The sequel is scheduled to start shooting down under on December 7.

The 'tweeners - Jay (James Buckley), Neil (Blake Harrison), Simon (Joe Thomas) and Will (Simon Bird) - were in Malia when we last caught up with them. They, or rather their first spin-off movie, returned with a sore head, sand in its shoes and a massive £58m in its pockets.

Early rumours had the sequel decamping to Oz, and so it's proved. Co-creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley are keeping their cards close to their chests, but promise at least some marsupial mayhem.

“We can't say too much as we don't want to spoil the jokes for you", the screenwriters said in a statement, "but what we can exclusively reveal is there will be kangaroos. And Australians. And possibly koalas. Oh and obviously Jay, Will, Neil and Simon, providing they’re let into the country. Thanks so much for all your support, we’re hoping to deliver a film that you’ll enjoy even more than the last one"

The Inbetweeners 2 is scheduled for a UK and Irish release in August 2014.
