Ice Cube In First Sunday

In his pursuit of getting into any film named after a day of the week, Ice Cube has made a tremendous breakthrough, and managed to move on from Friday. Skipping Saturday altogether, he's signed on to star in First Sunday which, like his previous three movies named after the last day of the working week, is an 'urban-themed comedy'.

Mr Cube is also a producer on the film, which has been written by playwright David E. Talbert, who will also direct, making this his feature film debut. It's also a return for the Icester to the comedies that made his name, after going a bit skew-whiff recently with family fare like Are We There Yet and it's sequel, and his turn as the world's most girthy action hero in **xXx: State Of **The Union.

The real interest here though, is in newcomer Talbert. His plays have already found a large audience in the States in the last fifteen years, several of which he is considering for offers to adapt for the big screen.

Filming will start in May, with a U.S. release already pencilled in for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday (January 21, 2008).
