He was onstage last Sunday hosting the Tony Awards with his usual hairstyle, but Hugh Jackman has headed to the barbers for a ‘do that would make Wolverine blanch. The actor has revealed a shaven bonce for his role as Blackbeard in Joe Wright’s take on the Peter Pan story, Pan.
The film aims to tell a new origin story for Neverland’s most famous lad, exploring how he was first spirited away to the magical realm as an orphan. There, he discovers threats from Jackman’s Blackbeard, mystery in the shape of Rooney Mara’s Tiger Lily and friendship with Garrett Hedlund’s Hook. Pan and Hook initially team up to defeat Blackbeard, though of course we all know where the story goes after that… Or do we?
With Levi Miller playing Pan and Leni Zieglmeier as Wendy Darling, the rest of the cast includes Amanda Seyfried, Adeel Akhtar, Jack Charles, Taejoo Na, Nonso Anozie, Kathy Burke, Kurt Egyiawan and Lewis MacDougall. Wright is at work on the film now in London and it’ll hit screens worldwide on July 17 next year.
