Last week, in addition to news that Sony was shifting Venom: Let There Be Carnage, was a mention of Hotel Transylvania: Transformania likely being shuffled away from the troubled waters of theatrical distribution to the safer shores of streaming. We guessed it could end up on Netflix given the studio's close ties to the streaming behemoth, but Sony has offloaded its movies to other companies and it appears the Drac back is headed to Amazon.

According to Variety, Amazon is looking to cough up $100 million to buy the film, the fourth in the family friendly monster franchise, which usually feature Adam Sandler in the lead voice (he's skipped this one) and has earned around $1.3 billion so far.

Now, with the Delta variant causing people to worry again about attending movies and its key younger demographic both unvaccinated and likely to be denied when vaccine requirements slowly start to come into place in some cinema chains, it's a necessary move right now.
