Earlier this month, we learned that the Aardman Animation team, and specifically stop-motion legend Nick Park, would be following Shaun The Sheep: The Movie with a new project called Early Man. Now the first imagery from the film has arrived in the shape of a poster.

Early Man, according to its official synopsis, is set at the dawn of time, when woolly mammoths and dinosaurs roamed the earth. One plucky caveman must unite his tribe against a mighty enemy and save the day for everyone.

From the looks of this first glimpse, it could well be a Wallace And Gromit-style buddy comedy, just set way back when. Yes, back before cheese was even thought of. It’ll be fun to see what Park does with a completely new situation and we’re expecting the usual level of Aardman fun.

With StudioCanal and the BFI backing this one, the rights have been selling swiftly at Cannes, so we’ll hopefully know when this one will be in UK cinemas sooner rather than later.
