Ever wondered what Run DMC might look like if an ancient curse accidentally turned them into vermin? Well, wonder no more, and gaze upon the newly released poster for Alvin and the Chipmunks, the movie update of the '80s cartoon favourite, where the answer shall be yours.
Now, the '80s was a long time ago and we were a whole lot younger then, so our memory could be hazy, but we remember sitting down with our Squares crisps and Thundercats toys and switching over from Teddy Ruxpin in favour of a cartoon about overgrown rodents who liked to sing wholesome pop ditties – like a furrier, abbreviated version of the Jackson Five. We do not remember being terrified that said rodents might jump us behind the youth centre and relieve us of our milk money (why are they hiding their faces and sneering at us?) Of course, we understand that this kind of series has to be updated, y'know, for kids. But these are scary hoodies. Big, giant mouse-like hoodies and they frighten the wiggins out of us.
Thank the lord for the calming presence of Jason Lee. Nothing too disastrous can happen while Jason Lee's around. Save us Jebus...er, Jason!
