It's out there, on its own: the Fame trailer is online, and it's got everything you'd expect from a remake of the 1980 story of a performing arts school and its exuberant students. In other words, there's piano-playing, lots of emoting, crazy dancing and teen romance.

The big question for this film is where the reboot of such a classic can fit into a landscape dominated by the Step Ups and High School Musicals and Stomp The Yards. Still, none of those films star Kelsey Grammer, Bebe Neuwirth (Frasier and Lillith, together again!) and Will & Grace's Megan Mullally among the teachers, so hopefully that will give this one an edge.

The film is out here on September 25, so you've still got a few months to polish your tap shoes in preparation.
