The Expendables 3 isn’t one of those sequel titles to go with the whole colon-plus-superlative formula that’s currently in vogue. But if Sly and co. had decided to keep up with the Mission: Impossibles and **Hobbits **of the world, we’d hazard the result would be something like “The Expendables: Kaboom Of Doom” – at least judging by this new TV spot that's unleashed on the world right here and right now. Crash helmets on, people, you’re about to drink Stallone’s cordite milkshake.

Upping the guns and explosions quotient by a full 1780.39 per cent, **The Expendables 3 **finds Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and his posse of unusually-named desperados facing off against the nefarious Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson) and his massed ranks of henchpeople.

Runs the official synopsis: “Stonebanks co-founded The Expendables with Barney years ago and subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill... or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables, but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy." Included in that posse of newbies are Kellan Lutz and MMA star Ronda Rousey.

Not enough bang for your buck? Well, here’s a full identity parade of Expendability, including all your favourite ‘Dables: Smash Porkins, Stabby Deatherson, Rigor Mortis and Killer Joe. Expect the usual heady blend of old-school style, high-tech expertise and honest-to-goodness explosions. With Red Hill’s Patrick Hughes calling the shots on this one, The Expendables 3 will swagger on screens on August 14. The movie's world premiere will take place in London on August 4.
